Will a homeowners policy cover gutter damage from the ice storm?

I live in the midwest and we were hit with a nasty ice storm that took out power for millions. I am one of the lucky ones to have power, but as the Ice is melting it is ripping the gutters form my roof. Will my home owners policy cover the repair/ replacement cost? If not what about homeowners warranty?

Well you would need to read through your policy, but if it does, the cost of repair will have to be over the price of your deductible.

Read your contract. They’re not all alike.

Homeowners should cover damage to your gutters by ice, or the ice storm. BUT, it’s subject to your deductible. I’m not seeing how MELT, ie, water, is ripping the gutters. But if the damage is ICE, then it should be covered.

If it’s rot, it’s not covered.
